Andrea Fontenot is the dance instructor for the HSL Karnes City and Stockdale schools of dance.

Andrea has been dancing since the age of 5 and has been teaching for five decades. Her first teaching job was for the HSL Boerne School of Dance in 1975. Throughout her career with Hermann Sons Life, she has taught in Hondo, Comfort, Bulverde, Boerne and Jourdanton. In addition, she was an instructor at St. Mary’s Hall, Connally’s Dance Workshop and the San Antonio School for Performing Arts.

In 2012, Andrea opened her own dance studio, Studio La Vida in La Vernia. She sold the studio in 2023 to one of her colleagues and currently teaches there as well, now called MK Dance Academy.

In 1982-1983, she was lead dancer for the San Antonio Spurs Quicksilver dance team. In 1991 and 1992, she was the director/choreographer for the San Antonio Rodeo dancers.
